Spring Fashion Fever
by Courtney Monique
Yeah, Buddy! We are all rolling like big shots now since we can rid ourselves of the bulky winter outerwear and slip into something a little more comfortable and alluring. This winter was brutal, so now that we have had our fill of the abuse and licked our wounds, let’s spring ahead into this year’s Spring fashion trends.
Spring is all about color, light, and flowing fabrics. Expect to see all of the usual Spring-time brights, as well as a newbie to mix, fantastic Fuchsia. Prints will also be big this season- you’ll see florals and animal prints, and the mixed print look is strongly encouraged. Spring tops will be soft, breezy, and SHEER. You will see the maxi dresses, ruffles, cadet/military jackets, boyfriend jeans, rompers, cardigans, tailored vests, one shoulder blouses, bright and chunky accessories, trenches and, of course, sling back and peep toe shoes will ALL be returning from seasons past. Oh, and I don’t think leggings are going anywhere.
Let me offer a few suggestions on wearing your Spring apparel:
1. Wearing flowing items can make you look boxy, so please match a flowing top with a slim bottom, or vice versa, and pair flowing dresses with a belt.
2. Be careful mixing prints, try to keep them on the same accord.
3. With any trend, let’s be conscious of our body types! Some things have to be slightly modified to suit voluptuous women (plus sized and/or pear shape). Remember, you look better when you look classy!
4. This is going to be my last one. I love to show my feet at the first hint of sun, and if you with me, please treat yourself to a professional pedicure at least once! Flintstone feet are not chic!
Till next time, Be Beautiful and Be Blessed!
Ms. Jackson
